With extensive construction experience in both commercial and residential settings, Jarrod brings a wealth of knowledge to the helm of Highland Development. His journey in the construction industry has been marked by a dedication to crafting spaces that seamlessly blend functionality, aesthetics, and enduring quality.

Jarrod's expertise extends beyond the construction site; he is a seasoned project manager with a keen eye for detail. His ability to navigate the intricacies of project management ensures that every venture undertaken by Highland Development is executed with precision and efficiency.

A proud 2008 graduate of Auburn University, Jarrod holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree in Business Administration and Management. His educational background, coupled with hands-on experience, forms the backbone of Highland Development's success. Jarrod's leadership is characterized by a commitment to transparent communication, unwavering quality standards, and a genuine passion for turning houses into cherished homes.

Under Jarrod's guidance, Highland Development stands as a testament to the fusion of expertise and a profound love for the craft, creating spaces that go beyond construction – they become the backdrop for countless memories and the realization of lifelong dreams.

Jarrod is a past president of the Marshall County Homebuilders Association. He resides in Guntersville with his wife, Morgan, and their two young children.

  • Josh Johnson

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Josh Johnson, Project Manager for Highland Development, plans, coordinates, and oversees all aspects of the residential building process.

    Josh was born and raised in Marshall County, Alabama. He is an avid kayaker, a nature enthusiast, and a third-generation carpenter. Josh is a dedicated father of two teenagers. He has worked in all aspects of the construction industry for 30+ years building residential and commercial properties.

    Josh provides strong leadership and builds a strong sense of community with his team ensuring success with every project he manages. Josh works diligently to identify unique solutions, articulating that success to his team, and turning that vision into a reality so that each customer has the best home-building experience possible.

  • Taylor Ashley

    PROJECT MANAGER

    As a Project Manager at Highland Development, Taylor specializes in coordinating with homeowners and subcontractors. In this role, he alleviates the stress of construction and decision-making for our valued customers. Additionally, he plays a crucial role in maintaining quality control throughout the building process.

    Taylor joined Highland Development in April 2023. His more than five years of construction experience began as a versatile team member for a commercial construction company, followed by two years working for a successful home builder.

    Building meaningful connections in the industry has been a cornerstone of Taylor’s approach, ensuring he always has the right solution to any problem that arises.

    In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn baby. He is also an avid bass angler, having participated in the FLW Tour at the age of 19. While he enjoyed a year on tour, his true passion lies in building construction.

    He firmly believes in doing things right the first time. Taylor brings maximum effort to ensure customer satisfaction. He treats each home project as if it were his own.

  • Jennifer Ellis

    ACCOUNTS MANAGER

    Jennifer Ellis is the Accounts Manager at Highland Development. She joined the company in 2022. Before that she was a middle school teacher and then after her children were born, a homeschool mom.

    She has been happily married for almost 20 years to her architect husband, and she has five children. In addition to her work at Highland Development, she homeschools her children. She loves to read, travel, and eat at new and interesting restaurants.

    Jennifer enjoys working with numbers. She also enjoys working with her brother Jarrod to keep the finances organized so that the team can make good financial decisions and so that the customers are always kept in the know about the financial state of their homebuilding experience.
